Those fares were only available ex LAX and SEA - although end-on-end fare constructions allowed originating/ending in SFO for a couple of hundred more. Given the possibility (until October) of securing an international 787 frame on SFO/IAH, and not having two connections, this is indeed a very good deal for UA travelers.
