mrs. Peanut77 is travelling to Sydney on Business in September. She is free to choose any airline. Does she earn tier points if she chooses Cathay, and if so, how many? Is it 140 each way, or per sector, so 280 each way. She will have 330 tier points prior to her trip but the collection year ends before the return leg.
Reaching Silver would be very useful as Mrs. Peanut77 does most of her flying around Europe in economy and would love Lounge access.
If I have read the tier point threads incorrectly and Silver cannot be achieved on the outbound with Oneworld ,would she be better off choosing a non Alliance airline such as Singapore for the overall quality of the product?
