My annual fee was due last month so I called AmEx, moved 90% of the credit line to a different AmEx, and closed the card.
When I mentioned I didn't want to pay the AF because they'd lost the JetBlue contract, the rep didn't even bother to suggest any alternative (like "would you consider keeping this card open if..."). It was the shortest "I need to close this card" call I've ever made.
Which Amex card did you switch to? And why did they only move 90% of the credit line and not all of it? Or was that your choice?
