Annual fee hit recently; I also got the "we would if we could but.. no" from two agents. The second one said I should call back after Wednesday (the 15th) in order to downgrade. It wasn't clear whether this was because the downgrade is currently unavailable, or it's related to my billing cycle, or some other reason. So I'll try again then.
It is because the downgrade is currently not available. Was told exactly the same thing. I think they are getting more calls about this then they anticipated, but not sure what they want to do. Cancel accounts or go with a retention.
