I was referring to the "artisanal" ice cream shops that are popping up in the bay area . . . they are characterized by weird flavors, high prices, small scoops, and very long lines of very pretentious people. It's much like the coffee scene, where people wait 30 minutes in line for a cup of blue bottle.
