Just a slight clarification, Marriott never had sampler (or hopper as I think they used to call them) awards as part of a TP award.
Yes, they did have some sampler awards for specific areas (Hawaii, Europe, Florida, UK), but they were never part of a TP award. Given the discount/value of the TP awards, even if Marriott were to bring back Hopper/Sampler awards, I doubt they would do so as part of TP awards.
