I recently flew VX F and UA F (all domestic). Of course I loved VX more. But UA food was better than before. Dessert sucked though :-)
VX is still better but even the worst F seat domestic is better than MCS or exit row. I still prefer and want F. I rarely travel (time/money) so I'll pay F for a 10+ day trip or just not fly. So for thanksgiving it really made logical $ sense to pay less ($870) on AA for 3 seats instead of continual checking. But yes I would have paid $1200 RT each for 3 seats if they were available together because I wouldn't have bothered to check on AA. I'm not even bothered with maximizing frequent flier miles because they're overall not helpful for me.
