This happened to me back in April, my inbound DAB-ATL flight was delayed by 1 hour, and I was at risk of missing my flight to MKE. The agent at DAB was able to protect me on a later ATL-MKE flight in case I missed my connection. However, what I did not know was at some point in the process they took me off my original flight. When I got to ATL, they were holding my original flight, but the boarding pass scanner rejected my BP as I had already been taken off. Fortunately my original seat was still available because I would not have been a very happy camper otherwise.
