One of the points of having laws is to protect those who are not in the majority. That's not a problem the free market ever solves.

You make incorrect assumptions - something you should be cautious of.
Yes I am aware of American History and I am aware of the power of the free market and I know that the free market will win out - it is not about the majority it is a about a business opportunity in a free market. If someone in the free market sees an opportunity to cater to a niche market and make a profit then the free market will be well ahead of the opinions of the majority in servicing that market. In the case of gay marriage the majority is in support and there are tens of thousands of vendors who will willingly do business with them - so it is not an issue of unavailable services - it is a case of gay couples selectively choosing a vendor with an opposing view simply to bring about legal action to pad their pockets and force behavior.
