I did, and was told I could do a paid upgrade for my wife for $100, which I declined (not worth it).

I suppose it's possible that six people came up to ask, but I was sitting next to the gate the whole time and the agents had their hands full doing bag tags for rollers that wouldn't fit in the overhead and trying to learn all the Alaska-specific gate announcements.
