Yes, holding to the traditional definition of marriage is hate. It's saying these people are less than in the eyes of the law. Not god, which is not what state marriage is about, but the law.

Just because your old beliefs (as Alito would say) are old doesn't mean that they aren't bigoted.

And no one is saying you can't have your beliefs. They are saying that, a) you may get a hard time for having them, which is fair, and b) that you can't use them to discriminate, which is also fair.
