Obviously this makes it extremely difficult to maintain service standards across the whole aircraft.
The FTCs were also told that only in times of disruption they may be asked to take aircraft out in charge (ie without a CSM). Many are coming into work however to find that on a normal day they are being rostered to take aircraft out in charge with no CSM on board.
On all fleets BA are working crew to the bone, as Yesitsme was saying, and even worse for the LGW crew with all the extra uncertainty hanging over their heads. I hope the situation at LGW has a good outcome for crew there in the near future, unfortunately though I won't hold my breath.
Yeah manpower seems to be utter shambles at the moment, FTC, Aspire, Worldclass Crew or whatever they are called this week (I am not being patronising but even our MF colleagues can't keep up with the ever changing names) taking flights out in charge- Eurofleet Pursers are working down to Main Crew positions left right and centre, not leaving enough seniors to take flights out.
You really couldn't make it up sometimes.
Today LGW Crew are being bussed up to operate LHR flights and Mf Crew are doing LGW flights from time to time too.
and yes I wholeheartedly agree with what you are saying.
