On 17 Jun 2015 DL flight 159 was severley damged by hail (see link w/ pictures below) while over China en route from DTW to ICN. It is my understanding this 747 is now being scrapped as it is damaged beyond repair.

Has anyone flown this route after the incident? I'm reading they substituted an older North West 747 for the DTW>ICN route that had originally been retired and sitting in an aircraft Bone Yard out in Arizona -- which in a seperate incident made an emergency landing on 2 July 2015 in Ireland.

I have Business Elite (Delta One) tickets booked for the DTW > ICN route on 31 Aug 2015 and would like to know if Delta is still using a 747 for this route. If there are any recent DTW > ICN flyers out there, I'd love some feedback!
