BTW, Vodafone worked great in Japan with T-Mobile and the phone rental process was pretty simple. The biggest problem was remembering where the rental office was located on the fifth floor "Business Center" of NRT T-1.

It's lots less expensive and more convenient than renting a handset from T-Mo in advance.
