Why? Do you think the situation will be less brutal for them if they hear the news from BA first? It's brutal for them any which way you cut it.
If this information is a leak, the only ones for whom it might create a brutal situation that might otherwise have been averted is BA themselves. If so, they probably deserve it, IMHO.
