Boarding won't start an hour early, particularly (as I mentioned last post) since the gates won't open until an hour before the departure time. As you don't need to worry about immigration, I would get to the gate AT MOST an hour before departure.

Oh, and don't forget to change your watch and mobile to Singapore time, which is 2 hours behind Brisbane.

So how could that be so ? If the plane departs 15minutes late while everyne is on board. Then how could the plane get to helsinki 15 minutes (EARLIER) ? shouldn't that also be 15minutes aswell late reaching to helsinki or are we talking about the speed of the plane and time zones sort of thing? I thought it was quite interesting fact... can't remember where i read that from but it was in regards to finnair on the long haul.
Nothing to do with time zones. What happens is if they have the fuel, the pilots will keep the engines at a higher thrust setting. Favourable winds also help aircraft make up time. It's not really much of a miracle, I've had flights where we were an hour late departing and arrived on time.
