It is apparent that he was more interested in doing the right thing than the convenient thing, and in his subsequent posts showed that monetary reward is not his motive.

I admire his discretion with the hotel, the chain, and location.

I always put the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. I'm much happier making my own bed, and leaving the room the way I want it, especially when I'm there a few days, and have my laptop etc spread out. Hanging up the towels, and keeping the room neat and clean is no big deal. And it keeps everyone out of your space. And yes, I do use the internal safe, but there are a couple hundred youtube videos showing you how to access most of the commercially available makes, especially the electronic ones.
