Me neither, and I don't mean to be a shil for this card, but help me with
my math (I'm a bit jetlagged today... okay, a
lot jetlagged):
The cell phones and cable drive me crazy but I live with people that gotta have them, to the tune of $360/month. Don't know where the rest of you are at, but I'm guessing some above, some below. So stay with me ....
So that's $4320 a year (ouch! ouch!). x5 is 21600 UR points. What are those things worth?
At a minimum, I can use them for 21600x$0.0125= $270 worth of AA tickets.
I also stay at a lot of Hyatts and find that I can get at least $0.02 in value from them, of $432.
So even without counting the hotels that are not affiliated with major chains where I still get 2x points, or the junk I buy at Amazon with Staples gift cards at 5x points, on the basic cell+cable spend I am getting $175 to $337 in real value. It's not my thing, but I suppose there are fee-free 1.5% cashback cards that would allow one to clear $64 on the same spend, but even at 2% that's not close to the $175 to $337 I think I am getting in real value on this constant spend I can't seem to get rid of, even with the fee on this card.
Hey, I'm going to call in to see what I can get, but I don't want to get silly and cut off my noise to spite my face if they don't come up with anything.
