I've been using Nextel for about three years. I travel extensively throughout the US, and occasionally major cities in Canada. Also travel intl here and there. I found Nextel to excel in metropolitan areas and areas where businesses exist. However, I also find Nextel to be most weak in "consumer" markets. Meaning, if I got hiking in the Olympic mountains, my Nextel cell dies virtually as soon as I hit the National Forest service line, whereas my significan others Sprint cell will last many many miles into the wilderness before it cuts out (if at all). See the same thing when driving over mountain passes - tends to be a week point for Nextel. But, in terms of inner city and urban areas (like industrial/commercial/office parks) it works great - often where my co-workers do not. FWIW, I've got the i2000Plus.
