For many years I have used a combination of BA flight derived AVIOS miles (including tier and class bonuses), along with credit card derived miles to book tickets to various destinations at WTP prices, upgraded using AVIOS to CW.
As an example, the cost of this upgrade on a return flight to India was 25000 AVIOS. It is now 60000 AVIOS.
BA / BAEC have made no commentary to my knowledge for this extortionate change.
Be that as it may, I will have to re-examine my loyalties. I can get a business class flight to the same destinations for approximately £1450 (or less with one airline) vs approximately £2000 for a BA CW flight!
