Its a bit tricky to identify a gate louse - sometimes the orderly (or even not quite so orderly) queuing represents customers with boarding priority over yours and the side step slip into the queue is nothing more than a rationalization for self-justified DYKWIA.
I don't wear hats, and wasn't in MSP last week. Just to be clear, it's easy to identify a gate louse once my zone has been called. It's the person standing still, blocking the boarding line. If the person had the same boarding zone as me, the person would be moving forward and getting in line. I don't side step slip, and actually call out others that do. I go to the end of the line, but often think I'm at the end of the line only to find it's someone in Zone 3 standing too close.
