Legacy American Airlines fliers got a huge windfall as a result of the fact that ANY MILES earned, NO MATTER what the source qualified towards Million Miler status before December 2011.

USAirways had a significantly less generous policy of only allowing miles flown on US towards Million Miler Status.

In the UA/CO merger, United equalized the million miler qualification.

In the AA/US merger, the new AA made no such equalization and as such AA fliers reaped a windfall while US fliers are disadvantaged. The AA fliers in this forum are gleeful that the US elites got stapled to the bottom of the Million Miler list (a la TWA FAs). As legacy US Fliers are in the minority, expect no help or sympathy from the majority AA elites
