I started with 300K+'ish in AA, added 1.8M+ US, to get to 2.2M in AA. I received lifetime PLT status and 4 SWUs.

This effectively means that any miles from US acquired airlines, and any non-flight miles are discarded.
Clearly this was not my understanding based on flood of emails and websites coming from AA and US before March 25, 2015.
US MM program was always BIS miles only, so there are no credit card, affiliate, etc., "non-flight" miles to discard. There was never a commitment to retroactively re-calculate US MM balance based on the old AA rules, and then transfer that balance. And I see no reason to expect it.

I'm afraid I can't understand the remainder of your complaint.
