Flying out of LGA tonight, early evening. Blissfully quiet at the checkin and TSA but then the gate area was quite crowded. But why is the place so revoltingly dirty? Torn and stained wallpaper, stained carpets, trash everywhere on the floor and behind the seats, armrests look like they've been nibbled away by rats. The ceiling tiles are missing in places and some astonishing contraption to presumably drain a leaking roof has been rigged up with what looks like a garden hose draining into an upturned umbrella shaped piece of plastic sheeting into a large plastic trash can.

Can't they even clean the place? I understand that the port authority's budget for maintenance must be about $5/yr judging by this evidence but it really is vile. What a dispiriting place to work. It made me think that if I travelled regularly on AA and could go from JFK instead I'd brave the long trek out there and the hike to those nasty Eagle bus gates at the end of concourse C just to avoid LGA and its nasty atmosphere.

This thread has now been merged with another recent thread about the state of LGA.
