I was wondering if there would be a need or use for something like that. The recent closure of the "laptop for sale" thread prompted me to think about it.

In essence there are quite a few "gadget freaks" (needs to be the newest model) , as well as people looking for useful travel technology items that may not necesarily need to be the newest top of the line model.

I.e. if I have an older GSM cell phone that I am no longer using, why not offer it here to another FT'er who may need one for a not very frequent trip to Europe. I would be happy to sell it to an FT'er for a very reasonably price, thereby helping another traveller. Happy to sacrifice a few extra $$ profit that the item would probably fetch on Ebay.

Just an example, but I believe the principal has some merit, why not recycle gadgets/techno toys..etc.. here as opposed to selling them on Ebay or elsewhere.

I think an FT marketplace would be very useful, and dont really see any downside to it.

Any thoughts/ideas ?
