Not at all. Yes, they did accept miles - my Aviators account had over 500,000 miles, assumed into my AAdvantage account (and incidentally pushing me over 1MM in the MM program extant at the time, giving me unexpected lifetime Gold.

Delta did permit lifetime Gold Crown room membership from Pan Am. But:

But when AA took over TWA in 2001, they ended "giving" lifetime members of TW Ambassadors a Club members their remaining current year of membership plus one more year of Admirals Club membership. That's not a precedent we'd like repeated, but it has solid footing in how AA treated lifetime Ambassadors Club members.
