Damaged bag - where can I have it repaired in downtown YYZ?
Hi,
My bag got damaged on yesterday’s flight.
It’s a spinner trolley with four wheels and one of them is broken, so it only moves at an angle. They opened a file and I was advised to have it assessed by luggage repair centers. Problem is: The cited repair center (Evex) has two “convenient” locations: in Thornhill and Mississauga. I do not go to either place, ever. (I’d have to rent a car which does not make sense from cost or time perspective.).
I repeatedly asked them for a place in downtown Toronto or at least something that is on the subway line. They asked me to contact the call centre, which I did, citing the file number. I was told the same thing. When I asked if they could recommend anywhere to go in downtown, I was told “sorry Miss, I am in India, I wouldn’t know about downtown Toronto places.” He then checked with his supervisor, came back with the same response “contact the baggage centre” and then pretended the line went down and he couldn’t hear me any longer and hung up after a dozen hellos.
I am thinking that I can’t be the first person with this problem. How have other travelers resolved this without the renting a car and sitting in traffic on a Saturday hassle?
