I'm helping a friend with a two-day one-way rental. Friend has enough Gold Rewards points for one day though not two.

Is it possible to redeem Gold Rewards for one day of the rental? That would take some of the sting out of the high daily rate.

Know friend could do two one-way rentals, one paid and one award for the two days, based on an assessment of where he'll be halfway through the trip. That's less convenient -- time going to location, processing return and new rental. Would prefer to avoid if possible.

Best would be for friend to have enough Gold Rewards points. Sadly that's not possible. Can't transfer points to redeem from my account, as best I can tell. (Friend is not my spouse, so that exception doesn't apply.)
