I think XP Pro is quite stable compared to the past products. I use the hibernate feature approx 8-10 times/day, reboot every 3-4 days and rarely have a problem. It bounces back to life in 7-9 seconds.

Try pushing the blue "Access IBM" button to connect to them and see what updates IBM has available for your cranky machine. You may be missing an important IBM update-something.
