Also - it is fairly high cost of fuel/tax surcharge (~5000 NOK per pax), it seems that "fuel surcharge" is added when booking StarAlliance awards, but on SAS there is tax only.

Thai First is excellent, not sure if I would spend the extra miles and extra connection though. If you want to fly first class go for it, if C brings you there comfortable enough I would do that.

5000NOK YQ is not that steep, you will pay pretty much the same on all *A carriers besides UA and SK itself. Only SK metal is excluded from the scam charges.
