Garuda has been talking about flying to the US since it, well, since it pulled out of flying to the US.
I have vague memories of 747's to LA flying via Guam in the late 80's. Appreciate that's surely wrong, but it has been a while. Can't help feel the demand is not here.
But saying that - last year Bali (alone) arrivals counted just over 100,000 USA arrivals (compare to 112,000 Brits) so about 280 a day. A Garuda flight would have to stimulate demand - even to sustain 3 flights a week.
