That's very interesting, bioblot, because me and a friend bought these knives a couple of years ago at Zurich Airport. In the duty free area there is a shop that sells Victorinox knives. I bought a small one with a blade less than 6 cm, but my friend (in this photo) bought a full size one with a blade nearly 9 cm long. When I told the sales assistant that I thought it was against regulations to take sharp blades on a plane, he told me that as long as our trip was terminating on the next flight then it wouldn't be a problem! I was quite shocked, as it makes a mockery of the whole security.

On the plane (it was an Austrian Airlines flight), we opened the up the packages to have a look. My friend posed for a photo, as we thought it was quite comical, but other passengers looked a little surprised!
