No, UA offered nothing, and it was a scramble to find a hotel. When we were delayed getting in to EWR, I booked the airport Marriott at EWR, figuring that I had missed my RSW connection. Because RSW was so delayed, I saw that I could make that flight, but held off cancelling the Marriott. Once the began boarding RSW I cancelled the Marriott (remember I'm literally walking down the jetway). I'm standing 3 people from entering the aircraft when they recalled all of us back to the gate, telling us that our flight had been cancelled. I tried to re-book the Marriott but within 5 minutes it was sold out. At this point in time there is a run on all hotels, so booked the first I could find, which was a Best Western in Newark.

What a night - after the PEK-EWR via PHL fiasco.
