Took me over 90 minutes to clear the security checkpoint. I would have missed the last flight to BOS except that it too was severely delayed. I was travelling with colleagues from work who were going to MSY. One was GS, the others were non-elites but travelling on $10K+ J fares from China. Both flights to MSY were cancelled, not due to weather but for ops reasons because United couldn't get a crew. United offered my GS colleague a hotel room, and absolutely nothing to the non-elites.
This airline ought to be ashamed of itself.
All of this doesn't address the TOD upgrades resulting in abysmal CPU chances for elites, frequent non-operational WiFi, lack of entertainment on many domestic transcon flights (hello 739s without even so much as personal device entertainment that are used on SFO to BOS routes), generally surly attitudes by the FAs and GAs, etc.
On a recent paid GF flight from PEK to SFO, I asked one of the FAs for United's advertised turndown service. The FA asked me why I couldn't do it myself.
On another SFO to PEK flight I was in BF with a colleague in GF - my boss who had asked me to consult with him about something. I tried to approach him but an FA prevented me from entering the GF cabin and refused to even notify my colleague that I had asked to speak to him. Unbelievable. This is the last year I fly United, even if it means no direct flight out of SFO. I am so sick of them.
I was on that PEK-EWR flight that diverted to PHL with you. I was on my way back home to RSW and got cancelled out. I am literally walking down the jetway, when they cancelled my flight to RSW due to our arriving too late into RSW. Had to RON in EWR until the next day. I got on the next morning flight, but have heard nothing from United.
And I too got stuck in the single TSA line, that had no pre-screen line, so the word "unbelievable" definitely IS believable.
