Welcome Sammy25 to Flyertalk, welcome to the BA Board, it's great to see you here, and I do hope you will have a good flight to London. Please feel free to continue posting here, we like to see new faces.
I presume that is the A380 service. Over in the Forum Dashboard there is a thread about seating on the A380, with photos and so on. There are some seats for couples which are not so popular for single travellers, so there's a good chance they will be available at T-24. You can keep an eye on the seat plan as you head towards departure and make a decision whether it is worth doing.
My personal view is that broadly speaking it's only worth paying for advanced seating on the 747 upper deck or possibly so-called Old First (which won't apply on your route). On the A380, main and upper deck service and seating are quite similar. Obviously if the aircraft is filling up and you want to be sure of your seat then perhaps you may want to have another look at it. But it's unlikely you will be separated in CW, so long as you are on the same booking, there's usually some combinations still available at OLCI.
If you have status with AA or US or another oneworld airline you should be able to reserve in advance for free.
