Do you think if I contact TA or BA directly they'd be willing to reroute a day earlier?
Normally BA announces something on ba.com in the run up to strikes of this sort, allowing people to rebook on flights leaving a day or two earlier or x days later, where x is between 2 and 14 depending on the scenario, or getting a refund. After this has sunk in, contact the TA to arrange for them to follow the advisory. Unless you are within 24 hours of departure, the TA has to do everything connected with the booking.
