Not an option unfortunately - vietnam airlines flight to HPH from SGN leaves 1.5h later after landing of Jetstar flight. And I know that time is way too short to get out from the plane, get VoA stamped, go thru immigration, get luggage and re-check into domestic terminal.
Was at SGN last year - it took 45 minute wait time to get VoA done and additional 15 to go thru immigration. And for departing flight - wait time on security was 1h.

I'd rather fly closer to the destination to avoid driving on local roads with local drivers for 3h. Did it last year, did not like it.
