I just read the story recently of DirecTV suing everyone who ever bought a smart-card programmer, and forcing many innocent people to pay settlements of $3500 to $10000 just to avoid the cost of a lawyer, so I suppose that stupidity and unfairness do occur, but I can't spend my whole life worrying about them.
