I flew Vietnam Airlines three times when I was there in the spring and they were a good airline. Staff on the ground and on board were friendly. English was widely spoken. Two of the three flights were on time with the third one having only a minor delay. Didn't lose my checked bag either (which was included in the fare as others have noted).
