Id actually like some clarification from the OP: Do you file RETURN protection? Which is (as others reminded me) $300 per claim, $1k per year. Or PURCHASE protection which (depending on card) can be up to $10,000 per claim and $50,000 per year. If your claims have been phones/tablets I could easily see the value of one of them being over the $300 per claim limit and quickly passing the $1k per year....plus it seems the terms are being used interchangeably through the thread.....

I'm pretty sure it was Return Protection, assuming the "well within the rules" part was honest (which I do).
