Before I call UA was wondering if anybody had any advice on what to say or who I should deal with. Here is my situation:
I booked EWR-SGN-EWR yesterday. My outbound trip was EWR-NRT-SGN with the NRT-SGN leg on NH. I got the great fare of $685 per person for 3 people. When I got to the purchase ticket page, I clicked on the Western Union option. It gave me until Midnight tonight to purchase the ticket. I just checked the reservation and the NRT-SGN segment is gone.
Of course, when I try and rebook the whole trip, it is now pricing at over $1,000 per person. I think the NH segment cancelled when not ticketed within 24 hours, but my UA segments are fine. The appropriate fare bucket is still available on the NH flight, so I'm thinking that UA
should be able to just add that segment back in and ticket the flight, but that would be too simple.
Anybody have similar experience? What was your outcome and how did you get it?
