Also flew ANA from NRT-TPE in Y and it was same as AC Y except the seats were more like preferred.
Yes, IFE is piss poor on EVA. Don't get me wrong, the STAR gallery system is nice. Responsive and whatever, but outside of the moving map, it's crap and I didn't watch a single movie.
The English selection is VERY poor. The new 77A aircraft are a bit better in this regard from what I read (I have not flown these new birds). The bathrooms are smaller and whatever but there is at least WIFI now. The 77N that fly out of YYZ and the 744's out of YVR do not. From what I remember, the 747 Combi's are now retired. I'm sure the 744's are on their way out soon.
Mmm. New 777's. The music is very soothing:

Frick, this thread makes me want to go fly to TPE AGAIN for no reason now. Time to go on

EDIT: Before someone goes on here and talks about upgrades and them needing to be in whatever fare class they need to be, that information is simply wrong - and NOT the case when I have tried to upgrade numerous times. If anyone wants to upgrade by booking a K/Y/B fare, then they MUST be able to redeem for a seat in J on Aeroplan or w/e. If they cannot do so, they cannot upgrade. I forget the fare class, but the inventory comes out of the SAME fare class.
