Question 20" Screens In Economy Class...Would You Like That?

https://talkairlines.wordpress.com/2...ces-aircinema/

Fremont-based AirComPacific has introduced a new "AirCinema" concept that will offer Economy Class passengers a IFE screen size of at least 20". The essence of the idea is that projectors will be used, therefore "loweing costs" as projectors are "easier to maintain and lighter than PTVs", as claimed by the supplier.

The idea was bashed on Airliners.net. While some users questioned how the projector can properly function under the cabin light and sun-rays, others are talking about how the large screens may cause distractions to neighbouring passengers, how the seatbacks may be easily damaged, and how the 20" screen is too overwhelming for passengers in Y with their noses on the screen.

What do you all think? Will this end up as another fantasy or is it possible for it to materialise? Hong Kong Airlines has signed an MoU for the product. How will that progress?
