There are lounges in ORD, JFK and a oneworld lounge at BHX. On the way there, would i get access to ORD, or just JFK because of my platinum status on an international leg of my journey? Are you travelling from ORD-JFK on the same day on which you are travelling from JFK-LHR. If you are, then you will get lounge access. If you will be stopping over or have an overnight transit, then will not get lounge access

There's no mystery and no need for "theories." The rules are clear that you receive lounge admission at ORD and JFK, both airports from which you have onward flights in your intercontinental itinerary.
AA doesn't provide this where there are stopovers , so there is more information needed to determine eligibility at ORD
