Row 1 is missing a window. It's also right next to the lav.

This is btw the Cirrus J seat, same as CX. AV cheaped out on the finishes though. Lots of cheap hard plastic. Already showing wear and starting to come apart.

Crew just phoned it in. One little plastic cup of beverage. No refills, no pre-departure offer. They spent pretty much the whole flight chatting in the galley. Worse than UA.

Edited to Add: Just flew the 788 again, this time in Y. Walked through the mini-cabin, and the first row (row 6) actually looks like a decent choice . . . it's not that close to the galley. It is missing a window though.

Y seats are pretty decent, with fold-down footrests, but very narrow with the 9 across. Note this is the slide out seat, which I kind of like, but those with long legs probably will not. AVOD is excellent. Service was again terrible.
I'm surprised you've gotten bad service. Maybe it's a crew coming off a long haul and tired? I've never had anything but good service on AV. Flying J between BOG-MDE the service kinda sucks, but it's more a function of how short it is, so there's no food and 1 drink at best. The only other shortening of service I've ever experienced with AV is on overnights from BOG-MEX. But that's also similar to AC overnight service, there's a quick drink/food then they kinda shut er down.
