I am shopping for a laptop power supply for use with the airlines. I am most interested in APC's power inverter. I have a few questions that I have been unable to find the answer to with calls to the airlines and APC.
1. Is the power supply standardized from one airline to another, ie 24 volts?
2. Is the outlet at the seat the same on all airlines??
3. Is there a type of power source equiptment (inverter vs DC to DC) that is more favored by the airlines? Is there a standardized certification for the passengers power source equiptment??
4. Do airline personell inspect the equiptment being used when they notice the aircraft power supply being used? Any hassles?

Thanks for your help. I will be on some very long flights this fall and would like to avoid disappointment.
