I’m doing an ex-EU trip to SFO with Virgin Atlantic in October, flying from DUB to LHR, LHR to SFO and return. The DUB – LHR is with BA, which VS automatically booked when I booked the whole trip. I’ve booked a separate LHR – DUB with BA.

I’m doing this trip with a few friends, so we’d like to get seats together, so I tried to reserve seats via the BA website for the DUB – LHR flight by using the booking reference provided by VS. BA didn’t recognised the booking reference. The VS website will not let me reserve the seats either.

We called VS but they were vague and said something about trying 24 hours ahead of the flight.

Does anyone know how I can reserve the seats? Also, can I claim TPs for the DUB – LHR flight, even though it was booked with VS?
