In the interim, CX told me I would be temporarily be downgraded to gold and then once I have hit 120k I call them and they manually upgrade me.

My question is - does anyone have any idea how long it takes for this downgrade to register on the system? Will it be instant? Or is there a chance that when I fly on the 2nd July I will still be diamond? Not sure if it makes any difference (on the status front, as I know miles on partners will take longer to register), but I will be flying AA and BA on the 2nd July and not CX

Any insights appreciated!

The downgrade will happen on 1 July. There is a chance that CX may waive it, but unlikely. The good part is that you will have almost 13 months for the next 120K when you renew DM next year.

AA and BA will take longer to credit. So you will stay GO until the required miles get credited.

Long time ago, AA and BA could only see a passenger's status (DM) at booking but not the new status (GO). However, it seems that they can see current status the past few years. You will probably be taking your flight as an OWS.
