Last night, Hugo Dixon, Editor-at-Large at Reuters News tweeted some complaints about Aegean's cancelation refund policy:
"1 Until now I thought Aegean Airlines one of best Greek companies. I now discover its policy on refunds misleading, amounting to cheating.
"2 If you buy "flex" ticket, website says "refundable with a £50 fee". But Aegean charges extra €20 on top of £50 fee."
"3 Aegean points out that €20 "refund fee" is mentioned in fine print. But it doesn't say it's on top of £50 fee "
"4 Aegean call centre supervisor then says £50 is cancellation fee not refund fee - despite website using words "refundable with a £50 fee""
Aegean replied:
"(1/3) We apologise for the misunderstanding. We always take customer feedback into serious consideration. Even though the 20€..."
"(2/3) call centre service charge is stated in the fare rules, we will review the phrasing of relevant rules to avoid customer..."
"(3/3) confusion in the future. Again, thank you very much for the pointer and we expect to see you soon in one of our flights."
