I saw one post from StarwoodLurker regarding new resorts back in 2011 as well as a number of news articles regarding the possible opening of the Westin Cam Ranh Resort & Spa, Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. It seemed this place was supposed to be open by 2012 but nothing yet.

I was just in Vietnam two weeks ago and went by the area where this resort is supposed to be built but no vertical construction yet. The sand dunes seem cleared out but again no real activity. Any updates on what's happening with this resort? What's holding up construction, is it financing?

If it gets built it'll be beautiful. That part of the Cam Ranh Bay area has beautiful beaches and views of the East Sea and it's super close to the airport versus Nha Trang which is a little bit of a haul.
